Free Capital Campaign Workshop Answers All Your Questions

Are you considering a capital campaign? Some organizations are uncertain of how and where to begin. The majority of nonprofits have never conducted a capital campaign and about 20 percent have little to no fundraising history. We’re here to help.

CampaignCounsel.org offers a no-fee, no obligation Capital Campaign Workshop. This workshop is conducted at your location or through a virtual meeting for your board members, key volunteers and senior staff. Some organizations have even invited community leaders and major-gift donors to the workshop as a cultivation and education activity.

Explore the details of the capital campaign workshop.

1. It’s a Free Capital Campaign Workshop

We do not charge a service fee for the workshop, and there is never any obligation to use our services. The only cost for an in-person workshop is for reimbursement of our actual travel expenses (air, car, and, if necessary, hotel). If you do decide at some time in the future to retain our services, we'll credit those expenses against future fees. There is no cost for a virtual workshop via internet meeting platform like Zoom, Teams or GoToMeeting.

2. It Answers Your Capital Campaign Questions

The workshop is interactive and designed to answer the questions of key leaders of your organization. Information presented in the workshop includes:

  • What questions will be answered by a capital campaign planning study?

  • What are the differences between traditional feasibility studies and a capital campaign planning study?

  • What are the deliverables of a capital campaign planning study?

  • What are the benefits of conducting a capital campaign planning study?

  • How do we find the right consultant to lead our capital campaign planning study?

  • How long will a capital campaign planning study last, what are our responsibilities verses the consultant’s, and how much will we pay?

  • What are the steps involved in an actual capital campaign?

  • What can we expect within each phase of a capital campaign?

  • How much will it cost to have a consultant manage our capital campaign?

We will delve into the questions answered by a Capital Campaign Planning Study and the factors evaluated by counsel before beginning a campaign. We’ll also examine the goals and activities of each capital campaign phase and the responsibilities of both the consultant and the nonprofit.

Generally, the workshop takes about 90 minutes to 2 hours, including time for questions. It is usually recommended that the workshop be held in a meeting separate from normal board meetings where leaders can focus on one specific topic – capital campaigns.
